YES!!!!!!!

I just checked the Michigan Department of Education website, and guess what it said? I am now officially certified as a Michigan teacher. It is about time. Doing a happy dance in my house and Kelly is looking at me strangely. Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes!

Old/New

This is our bathroom downstairs that Charlie and Hillary worked on. (Thanks so much!) There seems to be so much more room now. Thinking about getting something to put by the toilet for storage of towels, washcloths, tp and ect. There's not much room under the sink for storage.
Les did the painting.

Yes I can see you in the mirror.

Now all I need is the curtain rod for the shower and a shower curtain. A course I can't just go out and buy the rod because of the shape of the shower so I hope to get it ordered tonight. Now when my mother comes I can buy a chair to put in the shower so she can get clean. No stepping into a tub it will be easier for Grandpa Hicks too.

I See You

Goodbye

Since I had to go to Fowlerville I decided to stop at Aunt Teena's house and got my hair cut yesterday and I personally can tell the difference in length. I don't know if you can really tell from the pictures, but here they are anyway.

I knew that I would have to get quite a few inches cut off because it had been just about a year since my last hair cut. I should just get it cut more often so I won't have to cut such a large amount at one time. I also decided to put layers back in my hair. Since I never really see that back of my head, I was rather surprised by how much red is in my hair, or it could just be the lighting in the bathroom. Anyway, my hair feels better and I will straighten my how occasionally again since all the nasty split ends are gone. Goodbye hair.

A New Calling

I received a new calling today. I am now the first/education consular in relief society. Despite this new calling I am still teaching my Sunday school class, but Charlie said he is going to work on finding a replacement for me. I know that this new calling will come with a great deal of responsibility, but I feel good about it. I look forward to serving the women in the ward. I already know one thing that I need to do, talk to the teachers about staying on topic during the lessons. I have my first presidency meeting on Wednesday and I will then hopefully have a better idea of what is expected of me. So here goes nothing.

School back on for me

So, to answer Mom's question, I have started classes again too. I have a class (BUS 211 Statistics) on Tues. and Thur. mornings from 9:30 am to 10:45 am (which is partly why I had to have Hannah come watch Jaxson) and another class (ENG 338 Business Communication) on Mon. and Wed. from 5:30 pm to 6:45 pm. The last week of classes is the week of Dec. 13th. I'm glad to be back in classes and back to a routine again. I like having the summer off, but I prefer to have a routine to follow from day to day.

This morning I had to get up super early to take our whethers into the butcher (the other reason I needed Hannah this morning - thanks again, Hannah, you are such a trooper!). They only take animals on Tuesday mornings. They wanted me to bring them around 9 am, but I had a class I needed to get to, so I asked if I could bring them earlier. They thought it wouldn't be a problem. Usually they have so many big animals in their stock area that they want to wait to have smaller animals brought in later in the morning. They felt that there was enough room for our goats earlier today so agreed to allow me to bring them. Thank goodness, because I don't know of another time during the rest of this school semester that I would've been able to take them because of my class. Heavenly Father surely does bless us in little, but significant ways. We took them to a butcher in Caro. Also, when I called to set everything up, the woman I spoke to told me that she had had a man call asking for goat meat and that that hadn't had any. She gave me his number to see if he wanted to buy one of my goats to eat. I did call and he came to look at them yesterday. He agreed to buy one. So we were able to recoup some money. Again, another little but significant blessing. I know Heavenly Father loves me and watches over my family. So by Thursday we should have a lot more meat in our freezer.

1st Day of School

ANOTHER SCHOOL YEAR HAS BEGUN!!!!!!!

Watch out school, there are now 3 brothers coming your way!!!!!

Look at this 3rd Grader!

1st Grade here he comes!

So excited for his 1st day of Kindergarten!!!!

Proud mom with her baby boy before he leaves for school!

They are on their way!
Here's to a great school year!!!!!!!

First Day of School

Yeah, it's finally here. The first day of
school. Even though the summer flew by and the kids really didn't have much time to be bored, I'm still glad to have them back in school so we can all get back into a routine. I function much better in a routine. Here are the kids on this, the first day back.

Lexi is in 8th grade and the top dog at her school.

Merrit is in 6th grade and the top dog of his school. He also has new glasses, which is what he is holding in the picture. He only needs to wear them to see the board with. I'll have to take a picture of him wearing them so everyone can see what they look like.

Chelsea in in 2nd grade. She's sad that her really good friend from last year is in the other 2nd grade class, but I'm sure she'll make more friends.

Makayla is in 4th grade and she also is sad that her friends from last year are in the other 4th grade classes. She said that she only has one friend from last year in her class this year. But she, too, will be able to make more new friends this year too.

Jaxson's first day isn't until tomorrow, so I'll post his picture tomorrow.

I'm Trying

So, I have just signed up on LDS singles. I am now a member for the next 6 months at only half the price, thank you Labor Day sale. I have never really been a fan of meeting poeple online and I am a bit nervous but I figured I will give it a shot. I want a family of my own and in order to make it happen I need to put forth the effort. So we will see how things go. Wish me the best of luck.

I am, I will, I am, I will

I WILL finish the bathroom that Charlie and Hillary worked on and Les painted. I have been to 3 different stores this morning looking for finishing nails and no one has the right size. So that means trip to Home Depot, yuck. I spend to much there. Maybe we can get the sink in tonight and that way if I need any other material I can get it all at once. Here are a couple of pictures of the bathroom before we started. I wish I would have taken pictures of the floor so you could see all the different colors in it.

Will post new pictures when it is finished. Want to get it all done before Grandpa Hicks comes again. In fact I want to redo (clean) the basement this weekend. It has gotten to be a mess. I can't stand it, for it's the first room of the house I see when I walk in. I guess I will do the tomatoes and then start working on it.
