Family Fast

Uncle Joe was in a car accident yesterday. He went into the hospital to be looked at since he was in a lot of pain. They did an x-ray of his head and found a large mass in his brain. They believe that he has brain cancer. He needs to see a specialist to be sure. The hospital said that if it is, it is most probably inoperable. But, he is getting another opinion as soon as possible. We will need to wait for certainty, but it looks like it probably is. So, we are having a family fast for him today/tomorrow. We hope that everyone will be able to participate in it. Keep all of his family in your prayers as well.

Step one done

I know that not everyone knows but there has been a little battle of Sabrina and Mike over the children. Sabrina did not send the children to Mikes this summer because of safety reasons. Yesterday she went to court over it and Mike did not like the outcome. The judge is requesting all the court records be sent to WV so she can jurisdiction over the case. Until then Mike can have his visitation but Eli (his son by his first marriage) can not be around.

He is so stupid he came all this way and did not see the children. The kids were upset they knew he was here. Sabrina had not denied him visitation she just did not want the children around Eli. All summer he has not offered to take Eli home so he could have the kids nor did he ever offer to come over this way to see them. In fact he could have taken them home yesterday for a week but never offered to. How smart is that? That decision will not help him any in court.

To add a little more it looks like the lawyer Mike had for the divorce has used Sabrina's $10,000 that was in escrow that he was not to touch. It was to be sent back to Sabrina on the 17th of July and he has not released it yet. What fun. So Sabrina's MI lawyer had to take that matter to court yesterday.

Things are so interesting around here at times. I'm so thankful that I have Heavenly Father to talk to about this whole matter. He has given me a lot of comfort. I sure do love him.

A Date With Logan

Today I got home from taking my Aunt and Cousins to the airport and I asked my boys if anyone wanted to go on a date with me. Parker immediately said "No, I want to go out with Dad" (man I feel loved) and then he said that Logan probably would. Parker then asked Logan if he wanted to and he of course said yes. I can always count on my Logan, he is such a sweetheart. When I originally asked if anyone wanted to go, I didn't tell them what we were going to do. To tell you the truth, I first planned to just go grocery shopping. However, when Logan told me he wanted to come out with me I quickly changed my idea to the movies. Of course, when the other boys found out where we were going, they quickly volunteered themselves to come along also. I told them sorry, but NO!!!!! This was going to be a strictly Logan and Mom date. This of course made Logan very excited :)
HERE WE ARE WAITING FOR THE MOVIE, MAN I LOVE THIS LITTLE GUY!!!
THIS WAS ONE BIG DRINK
(we did share this by the way)
A trip to the movies would not be complete without a mid-show bathroom break
****The movie we went to see was Ramona and Beezus and I thought it was absolutely adorable!!!! I had to thank Logan for coming with me to a "girl" movie ( I actually really wanted to see it).
I love you Logan, thanks for being my date today!

Becca Boo's Visit

Becca came over for a visit on Monday to Wednesday and we had a good time. We didn't do too much but we did rent some videos and had a movie marathon. We also made chicken enchiladas for the first time. It didn't look too pretty but it sure did taste good, thanks for the recipe Kristi!
Thanks for a wonderful visit Boo!

It's Back

We have our AC back and it is wonderful. It's wonderful to be spoiled sometimes.
I will be canning our first bunch of tomatoes today. It has been nice to have fresh veggies from the garden. I missed having them last year.

Nothing yet!

We are looking forward to the new AC unit, it's just not getting here fast enough. Please hurry up!! Just to update some of you on our house. We have been renting with the option to buy for over a year, it's changing, we will be buying it now. Jodie's grandmother has died so she is just waiting for the finial paperwork to come through so she can sell it. We don't want to go into debt again but we feel we will be able to make money on the house. Besides who knows how long we will be here. There are days we don't think we will ever be able to retire, time will tell. We have started our list of things that we would like to do to improve the house, we're looking forward to changing some paint color around here. I'm so tired of the same color through out the main floor. Just didn't have anything else to do accept jabber on so take care.

Detroit Tigers

Yesterday my dad called from work and said that he could get 4 tickets to the Detroit Tigers game. We weren't sure if it was going to work out because we had already planned to go to the Lake, but when he said it was 7th row right behind the Tigers dugout Les just knew he had to go. My sister is in town with her 5 kids so, we decided that the four people who were going to go to the game were Les, myself, my dad and my sister. My mom was going to watch my sister's kids and I called and asked my sister in law if she would come watch ours. However, in the end things did not exactly work out that way.
Audrey has been acting weird for the last couple of days. Wednesday night she had a fever and then Thursday she started chewing her food, but then she would spit it out before she swallowed it. Totally weird because she has never done that before. I just figured that maybe her throat was hurting, but then last night I noticed she had sores all over her tongue and so we took her in and found out that she had ulcers all down her throat caused from a viral infection. I knew that Les was just dying to go to the game so, he went and I stayed home. Then my sister was feeling sick all day so she decided not to go. In the end the 4 tickets went to Les, Bradyn, my neice Jolie and my dad. I was looking forward to going to a game with Les because we have never gone without a kid with us, but I am glad that he was able to take Bradyn. Bradyn has been really into baseball lately because he is playing right now and doing quite well with his team.

BRADYN AND JOLIE CHEERING ON THOSE TIGERS!!!!!!!!!

RIDING THE FERRIS WHEEL AT COMERICA PARK!!!!
(Aren't they just adorable)

*****Parker of course threw a fit because he really wanted to go, but Grandpa told him that he would take him to a game sometime too!!!!******

Grrrr to the Post Office

So I have had some annoyance with the United State's Post Office. This past Tuesday I put my Sabrina's birthday card in the mailbox to be picked up and it didn't get picked up until today, which is Friday. So it took the mail carrier 4 days to get my mail. I think that this situation would annoy anyone. The sad truth is that this is not the first time it has taken many days for my mail to get picked up, this is a reoccurring problem. I have been urged many times by Hillary to call and complain to the post office. I finally followed her advice and called yesterday and received some rather frustrating news. Apparently because I live in the city if there is not any mail to be dropped off the mail carrier is not required to stop and pick up the mail. If I lived on one of the rural routes with my mailbox at the road, not requiring the mail carrier to get out of the vehicle, my mail would get picked up the day it goes out. The lady I talked to at the post office said that routes are already too long and that is why they have the blue collection boxes for those in the city, and if the mail carrier has to walk up steps to get to the mailbox they don't have to stop if they have nothing to drop off. My response to her was that first it is absolutely ridiculous that they don't have to stop. Second, my mailbox is at the bottom of my stairs so there are no stairs to climb. And lastly since when is it not the job of the mail carrier to pick up the mail and carry it to the post office. I did not receive a satisfactory answer from her and I know that my complaining won't make a bit of difference. Is this a normal thing to happen for those that live in the city or is it just the great city of Flint? I am obviously rather annoyed with the post office and the whole situation.

Family reunion

Here are a few of the pictures I took at the reunion. It was lots of fun. Maybe if I have more time I'll put all the other pictures I have on picasa or something.

Little Joe got his dad and Chuck with a bucket of water. It was quite funny to watch.

Here are all the kids after their water balloon fight.

Here is the kids funny picture.

This is the pop the balloon game. Notice that Les cheated and put his balloon right up next to his ankle.

4th of July

Happy 4th of July to everyone and a happy birthday to America! I am so thankful to be living in this land that has been blessed with many freedoms. Fireworks have been going off all day, it seems like everyone in Flint has fireworks. In fact it is actually July 5th now at 12:25 am and people are still setting off fireworks. Luckily for me I didn't have to go very far to catch the fireworks show. In fact all I had to do was step outside my front door. This short clip is just an example of what I saw from my front porch.

(You might notice the lack of video and think to yourself: "Hannah, you crazy, there is no video." I realize this. I recently got a new camera and I am having trouble uploading the video. In fact I have been trying to upload for almost the last hour...I QUIT!!!! So just imagine 22 seconds of seeing fireworks off your own front porch.)

Because of the prime spot in which my house is at there were people gathered on my lawn and the neighboring lawns to watch the show. This didn't bother me because it was only for a short period of time. There is an empty lot across from my house and there were a lot people who parked there to watch the fireworks and set off their own little fireworks. Luckily it was a clear night, but it was a hot and humid night.
